The Set and Go ultrasound head – key information
Set and Go ultrasound head SnG is intended for stationary ultrasound and LIPUS and combination therapy. The head creates an ultrasound wave at a frequency of 1 MHz or 3 MHz.
It is possible to combine two SnG heads for a two-section operation, which allows the treatment of larger areas simultaneously.
The total area of the head face is 17.3 cm2 in single-section mode and 34.6 cm2 in two-section mode.
Effective radiating area in Set and Go SNG ultrasound head is 3 cm2.
The PhysioGo.Lite SONO device, designed for use with a Set and Go head, has built-in treatment programs that can be used by the physiotherapist during therapy. For the relevant modes of operation, there are:
- single-processor operation: 4 preset programs
- dual-processor operation: 69 preset programs
- four-processor operation: 24 preset programs
Treatment techniques
Ultrasound treatments can be carried out using techniques such as
- dynamic technique
- semi-stationary technique
- stationary technique
During treatment with the SnG head, one should only use the stationary (stable) technique. The applicator is attached to the patient’s body with Velcro straps, and no head movements are made during the treatment.
The SnG head has been designed to prevent tissue overheating. In a multiprocessor application, protection against tissue overheating is achieved by using a switching sequence of ultrasound processores and modulating the ultrasound wave. On the other hand, in single-processor operation, protection against tissue overheating is achieved by modulating the ultrasound wave.
What is the best way to clean and disinfect ultrasound heads?
All accessories used during physiotherapy treatments should be cleaned regularly. It is best to clean and disinfect the ultrasound heads after each treatment. How to carry this out?
- for disinfection, one can use products based on ethyl or isopropyl alcohol. After wiping the heads, the disinfected surface should be rinsed again with lukewarm water.
- clean the head with a soft cloth soaked in a mild soap solution. The head should then be wiped down and allowed to dry completely.
